The closing year has been extraordinarily multi-faceted for Comartis. Not only have we embarked on very
interesting and innovative projects with an increasing international focus, but we have also chronicled a significantly
rising number of contracts. It seems to be proven that the economic crisis has quickened e-Learning. Internationally,
management now places a higher value on the planning of training requirements, on competence management, and on the
assessment of training programs.
The Comartis team is looking forward to an exciting 2009 and wishes all customers and readers quiet and relaxing
holidays and success for the New Year!

e-Learning in Global Perspective –
Three Successful Exhibition Days at the ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN
From December 3rd to 5th, 2008, Comartis presented their i-qbox Human Performance Suite
at the Online Educa
for the fifth
year in succession. During three days, the international e-Learning community met in Berlin to exchange innovations and
experiences across country and business sector boundaries.
With more than 2,000 participants from many nations, the previous year’s visitor count has again been topped. Comartis
demonstrated the latest version (5.4) of the i-qbox Human Performance Suite to an international audience. In the context
of the conference, Omar Lahyani, CEO of Comartis, presented his extraordinarily well-attended speech "Testing in Turbulent Times",
which focused on the importance and the benefits of assessment measurement especially in economically challenging
times.

Now Relies on the Swiss i-qbox Human Performance Suite
F-Secure Corporation
with headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, provides companies and private users with reliable protection
from threats through computer viruses, trojans and other malware coming from the internet and mobile networks.
The repeatedly awarded solutions of F-Secure are available as a subscribed service from more than 170 internet service and
mobile phone providers around the world.
In order to train the numerous service providers, resellers and internal employees in the use of F-Secure products,
and to keep everyone up to date with the latest developments and innovations, F-Secure relies on the i-qbox Human
Performance Suite e-Learning solution.
Within the i-qbox, the training data is managed centrally for all users. Role profiles are defined for service
providers, resellers and internal employees to display different features of the learning management system to each group.
In this way, the i-qbox can be tailored to fit diverse users, who then see different facets of the i-qbox, such as menu
navigation, reports, self-registration etc, depending on their individual needs.
F-Secure will introduce the i-qbox worldwide, taking advantage of the fact that the learning solution is available in
17 languages, most recently even Japanese.

Reach Your Aim Quickly and Easily
With the Excel-Friendly i-qbox
As a free addition to the new release, Comartis provides their customers with an Excel plug-in to bulk edit test questions.
With this handy, easy-to-use tool, customers can connect directly from the spreadsheet via an i-qbox server to the
learning object database, to import or export all essential question types, such as single and multiple choice as well
as complex types like gap input (incl. numeric), pulldown, drag and drop, text category choice and custom answer types.
The Excel plug-in is not only very helpful for the mass import/export of questions and extensive editing of question
attributes (author, associated test, etc.), it also simplifies the creation of language versions for translation services
who prefer to receive their text input data in Excel format.
The import plug-in of the i-qbox is compatible with Excel 2003 and all versions above.
