A look back at the Online Educa 2007:
Berlin was definitely worth the journey!

For Comartis, the Online Educa meant three delightfully intensive days. Visitors from all over the world took great interest in the i-qbox and in how it is used in corporate and university basic and further education. Adaptive testing and its use for assessments, the deployment of the i-qbox as a platform for tests or as a survey tool in the education sector and automatic education controlling were the main discussion topics.

Comartis is convinced that the Online Educa 2007 was worthwhile. It was a good opportunity for discussions with customers and possible partners and Berlin added to the scenario with its magical pre-Christmas atmosphere. Just off the venue, the Berlin zoo where little polar bear Knut lives – by now, he is one year old and weighs over 100 kilos – and the colorful Berlin aquarium were very inviting excursion destinations. Those who were looking for some Christmas spirit enjoyed traditional Christmas markets with their delicious smells of mulled wine and cookies.

Learntec, 29 – 31 January 2008:
Comartis with a multitude of highlights!

Once again, the i-qbox Human Performance Suite and its latest features will be our stars at the Learntec. In addition, we will focus on two more practical issues:

basic-check, a standardized test for school leavers which is used in Switzerland and the results of which support career counseling and apprenticeship seeking, will be presented in a speech at the Zukunftswerkstatt, which is co-sponsored by Comartis, and during the entire exhibition at our booth D1. In 2008, the implementation of a slightly adapted version of the test is planned in several European countries. The online solution is integrated with the i-qbox Testcenter Edition, thus the testing centers are not required to install any software.

The other main focus will be "ROI in corporate training and education". On 30 and 31 January 2008, those interested will be offered the opportunity to talk directly with Frank C. Schirmer of LearnVision GmbH about how to assess the return on investment of corporate education projects. With its i-qbox education controlling, Comartis provides a solution that supports the evaluation levels proposed by Kirkpatrick and Phillips . LearnVision GmbH is Jack J. Phillips’ exclusive partner for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Likert scales for surveys:
simple to edit and applicable for all contents

Likert scales are often used as answer types for course feedback and for self-assessment and assessment by third parties in connection with Competence Management.

When implementing answer possibilities, the division of the assessment scale and the linguistic definition of the individual points of the scale according to the question asked are highly significant. The i-qbox enables administrators to freely define any number of Likert scales and to save them with a name. Upon registration of a question, it is a simple matter of selecting the desired scale.

As a new option, the same Likert scale can be applied several times for multiple answer dimensions within a single question. For example, this enables the assessment of courses according to different criteria without the need for registration of a new question for each criterion.

We think that this smart feature contributes greatly to the quality and acceptance of surveys and thus to the value of the results.
