Climate Cent Foundation – Extranet
The Climate Cent
Foundation – financed by a levy of 1.5 cents on each liter of
imported gasoline and diesel fuel – is a foundation which supports
projects contributing to reducing CO2 emissions.
The Climate
Cent Foundation was established by Swiss industry in conjunction
with the Swiss government’s ratification of the Kyoto Protocol for
the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. It invests in projects
both at home and abroad.
At the
beginning of this year, Comartis implemented the Project Idea Notice
(PIN) form for the Climate Cent Foundation (see our newsletter
01/2006). On 1st July, the Project Definition Document (PDD) was
finished – the second step in the direction of evaluating projects
worthy of support.
In addition to
large projects or those placed by an intermediary, other users can
register and enter their project to the Climate Cent Foundation over
an auction. The application form is nine pages long and contains
standard text entry fields as well as the ability to upload
documents.
Likewise, the
system automatically performs a number of complex calculations for
the applicant. The detailed workflow allows projects to be returned
to the applicant with comments for revision or for an expert to be
consulted for an in-depth assessment. After a concluding report from
an expert, the foundation either decides to reject the project or
starts contractual negotiations with the project
initiator.
The tool was
implemented in close cooperation with the customer and
includes:
- User management
- 5 different roles, 1 of which contains 3 sub-roles which are partially
interwoven
- Detailed workflow
- Role-based
actions
- Automatic system messages via email
The first few
weeks after implementation were used to integrate various additional
customer and end-user wishes.
