King's Daughters Medical Center,
Ashland, USA: Comartis' i-qbox Wins
LMS-Evaluation!

King's
Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) is a locally controlled, non-profit,
385-bed regional referral center in Ashland,
Kentucky. To provide world-class care to its communities, KDMC
relies on highly skilled and motivated teams
in a range of fields. Its recent listing
in "FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies to Work for" clearly
reflects the high attention on attracting and keeping the best
people.
Learning and organizational development is a must
to expand and maintain the high
quality of KDMC's services. A Learning and Organizational Development
team is responsible for training KDMC team
members and affiliated community members. The department coordinates
leadership education, clinical education, continuing nursing education, continuing medical
education, CPR training, new team member orientation and customer service
courses.
To facilitate management
and delivery of its numerous education and training
offers, KDMC evaluated a range of Learning
Management Systems. Comartis is proud that KDMC
chose its i-qbox
Human Performance Suite.
Neal Cooper,
educator/e-learning specialist at KDMC, summarized the
decision as follows: "The i-qbox Human Performance Suite turned
out to provide all the necessary features,
including advanced competence management, at very attractive pricing.
We also liked the fast response of Comartis USA
in Tucson to whatever questions we had in the evaluation
process."

Zurich, Berlin, San Diego: Three
trade fairs in three weeks. 360 Degree Feedback and
Online-Recruiting take center stage
From late May to early June Comartis was
represented at three trade fairs in three consecutive weeks.
Comartis exhibited the i-qbox
Human Performance Suite at the Orbit-iEX in Zurich, in
association with their client
basic-check at the stand of Informatica 08. In Berlin
at the ILA, the latest
i-qbox module Online-Recruiting
underwent a field test, the results of which clearly indicted the
general acceptance of online tests among job applicants. At the conference and
fair of the internationally renowned ASTD (American Society for
Training & Development) in San Diego, the i-qbox was presented to potential
customers from the USA and various other countries worldwide.
As always, visitors to the booth had the chance
to win the mouth-watering raffle prize of a Swiss Toblerone
chocolate bar weighing almost ten pounds!

basic-check continues to expand
their market position in Switzerland: An important success for
the i-qbox Testcenter Edition

More and more
Swiss companies and organizations are using basic-check as an instrument for
screening tests of apprenticeship applicants. Ask here for the latest research study on
basic-check.
Comartis is pleased with the successful assessment of high school graduates with the i-qbox. The i-qbox Test
Center Edition can be utilized by independent test or certification
service providers, as well as in-house organizations, for the
efficient yet powerful implementation of supervised e-assessments.
In addition to basic-check Switzerland, DLGI
also takes advantage of many
benefits of the i-qbox to implement ECDL tests in testing centers right
across Germany.
An aspect of the i-qbox that is
especially valued by users is that in testing centers neither
additional hardware or software installations are required. Another
is that recourse security is guaranteed at all times in view of
extensive 1:1 reporting. Just as appealing are the attractive
pay-per-test investment models.

For e-learning
administrators, management and security administrators: Food for
thought in the discussion about data protection
Comartis expressly welcomes the
discussion about data protection in relation to systems
such as the i-qbox
Human Performance Suite. We consider
early dialogues and agreements as important elements on
the way to a successful company-wide implementation of
systems that measure the learning progress, and even the
extensive competence development, of personnel.
In the context of data
acquisition in the areas
of e-Learning, Online-Assessments and Competence Management it
has to be said that unfortunately too often
the possible dangers are emphasized. We are convinced
that these are far outweighed by the advantages that
deserve at least equal attention.
For example, employment situations often hold the potential for unfairly
negative or inappropriately positive evaluations by supervisors.
In the area of training and knowledge verification,
or when using the 360 Grad Feedback for
assessing soft skills and behavior, systems like the i-qbox reduce
the risk of
unfair evaluation. Each person's efforts and successes
in their ongoing training, as well their existing
competences and possibly also their evaluation by third
parties, are thus documented transparently. Employees and executives would
surely have to appreciate that!
Further, by centrally and reliably mapping
individual skills and competences, each person's chance for
advancement within the
workplace is heightened. And, should the need arise,
the transparency allows employees to more quickly qualify for
other positions within the company.
In all the discussions about data protection,
one thing needs considering: If strategic choices
about training and continuing education are to be made, or even further reaching
decisions are being
taken, this happens based on a broad
overall view. Of special interest in this regard
are the averaged, and therefore anonymous data of
whole organizational entities. The individual data of single users
then becomes much less important.
Read our hint of
the day and learn more about the controlled access
of data in the i-qbox.
