3. Participation in the ASTD Exposition 2007 in Atlanta:
The i-qBox Again Attracted Increasing Interest!

From 4 – 6 June 2007, Comartis participated for the third time as an exhibitor in the important ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) exposition. One thing is sure: Atlanta was definitely worth a visit!

Word has obviously spread that Comartis' i-qBox has proven its suitability for e-Testing and e-Surveys in the U.S. This was very apparent from the number of purposeful visitors from renowned U.S. corporations and public authorities which are either implementing e-Testing and e-Surveys for strategic purposes or who are evaluating alternatives or additions to existing solutions. Comartis' booth was once again in the perfect location and the sweet chance of winning a 9.9 lb Toblerone chocolate also attracted less determined, but often just as interested, visitors.

Due to a number of very specific project requests, CEO Omar Lahyani postponed his return home from the U.S. to assist with customer presentations planned at short notice.

The sales team of Comartis is confident that several large projects in the growing U.S. market will result from the many new contacts. To support the activities in the U.S., Gavin Ng recently joined Comartis USA as a technical project manager.

e-Testing: the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Relies on Comartis’ i-qBox!

LADOTD

At the end of May, another agreement on the use of the i-qBox was signed in the U.S. After several U.S. companies, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) was the first state authority to become a customer of Comartis.

The Louisiana DOTD is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and airports as well as marine and rail infrastructures. The i-qBox will support e-Testing for certification of engineers.

i-qBox Smart Features of the Day

Multilanguage support is becoming increasingly essential as globalization takes hold.

This does not only apply if a global corporation operates production sites and service centers all over the world, but also if vacancies in a country can only be filled with people from other language regions.

Comartis has always placed great value on dealing effectively with foreign languages. The i-qBox is therefore equipped with several features that will soon pay off when used in a multilingual environment:

  • The administration section is available in German, English, French and Portuguese. These languages do not only fulfill the requirements in Europe and the U.S., but are suitable for most parts of the world.
  • The user interface, which is used by less qualified learners, is also available in Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. We will implement translations (approx. 15 pages) supplied for missing languages free of charge.
  • It is well known that providing comprehensive multimedia learning content in several languages is quite an effort. Such content is therefore not always translated into all of the languages used by a company. i-qBox users can define a personal priority list for languages. If the content is unavailable in the first language but is available in one of the other languages on the list, it will be displayed in the language that is most suitable for the user.
  • Do you create tests? Then, you are probably familiar with this scenario: you have carefully formulated a whole range of multiple choice answers for a test which has hundreds of questions and is available in countless languages. Evaluation statistics reveal that some of your answer alternatives need to be removed. No problem with Comartis’ i-qBox: if an answer is deleted in the default language, the change is automatically updated in the foreign-language test questions. This of course also applies to amendments to the many possible detailed settings.

Whenever foreign languages are involved, the i-qBox facilitates a lot of things. Comartis way – the easy way!
