DLGI use i-qbox for ECDL certification throughout
their test centers in Germany

DLGI

The Dienstleistungsgesellschaft für Informatik (DLGI) , a national accreditation agency, provides certification services in regards to the European IT Computer License (ECDL). The ECDL license is recognized in 148 countries and verifies an individual’s computer IT knowledge. In Germany alone over 1,200 ECDL test centers carry out the ECDL tests.

Certification service providers as well as internal organizational departments supervised the execution of e-assessments. The DLGI in Germany uses the advantages of the i-qbox Human Performance Suite to certify tests. In 2008 alone, DLGI carried out more than 100,000 certifications.

Handicapped people can also use the services of DLGI: ecdl-accessible. All impediment-compensating technologies and techniques can be used during a test. For the blind, there are ECDL tests, which can be answered without a mouse and which allow certain tasks to be performed with the help of special software (shortcuts). The exam software also enables the use of Braille and screen readers. The deaf may have a sign interpreter accompany them to their tests. For their exam preparation, the blind can use online one of the teaching programs specially developed for the EDCL by the German Association of the Partially Sighted and Blind Pedagogues.

i-qbox SmartFeature of the Month

The i-qbox writes history with the new „Learning History“ feature

Would you like to check the educational status of your employees?

For the March release of the i-qbox Human Performance Suite , a learning history feature was developed for the Raiffeisen Group Switzerland. The feature can be activated through the "Learning History" button in the LMS of the i-qbox. On clicking the button, a PDF with the whole learning data of an employee is generated. This includes all the learning measures the employee has finished and plans to undertake in the future. The information is presented in the language of the logged in user.

The PDF consists of an index and various learning history information sections. The standard sections are:

i-qbox Learning History

  • Future Classes - Listing of all the future classes the employee will take part in.
  • Past Classes - Listing of all the classes the employee has or is still taking part in.
  • WBTs - Listing of the runs of single started or finished WBTs.
  • Tests - Listing of the best runs of single started or finished tests.
  • Surveys - Listing of the runs of the individual surveys.
  • Training Material – Listing of all the training material the employee has viewed and completed.
  • Certificates - Listing of all acquired certificates.

The report can be extended to include further additional learning history information sections. Its look can be adjusted to conform to any corporate identity.

In the administration interface as well as in the LMS, authorized persons can generate a report with the learning histories of individual employees. The report shows organizational information on the selected employees and a link to their learning history-PDFs. The report can be exported as a XML, CSV, XLS or PDF.

Torsten Maier
Director Compartment-/ Sales- and IT-Education
Raiffeisenbank Group of Switzerland

«It is important that all the training activities of an employee can be viewed by the employee and management at one glance. This allows for the better integration in the internal leadership processes. With it another contribution can be made in supporting one's internal executives.»
