Swiss Federal Office of Public Health – Interviewing Tool Supporting 29 Languages

Swiss Federal Office of Public Health - Tuberculosis preventionOn behalf of the Swiss Federal Office for Migration, ORS Service AG runs five reception centers for asylum seekers in Switzerland. Starting in 2006, border sanitary examinations with focus on tuberculosis prevention will be performed in these reception centers in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health.

Comartis has developed an interviewing tool which helps identify people suspected of having tuberculosis, initiate medical treatment (if necessary) and manage patient records.

Interviews are held in 29 languages, including Tibetan, Mongolian and Punjabi. The questions are not only displayed on-screen, but also automatically played as audio files. Moreover, the application makes it possible to show the interviewees a video on HIV/Aids.

It took Comartis only two months to realize this comprehensive project – a true record!

Comartis at the Largest e-Learning Trade Fair in the German-Speaking World

Learntec 2006This year's e-Learning trade fair Learntec in Karlsruhe – only three days this time – was again a great success for Comartis.

At the Comartis booth, Comartis representatives and those interested were engaged in lively conversations about the new version 5 of the i-qBox e-Learning system.

With two presentations, Comartis introduced itself to the Learntec audience. Away from the booths, an interesting case study describing the use of all i-qBox modules at Raiffeisen Bank and a fascinating presentation on e-Learning in the Middle East informed the audience about Comartis' products.

This year again, Comartis sponsored the already legendary Spinner Suite.

Raiffeisen Bank Uses Comartis' Learning Management System (LMS

RAIFFEISENacademy LMSSince the end of 2004, Raiffeisen Bank has been using Comartis' e-Learning system
i qBox
for education purposes.

The first version comprised an authoring tool for e-Testing and e-Surveys as well as several evaluation possibilities. Until then, Raiffeisen Bank had mainly relied on traditional education methods such as seminars and workshops.

Since November 2005, the approximately 9'000 Raiffeisen Bank employees now use the new advanced learning platform “Raiffeisen Academy”.

The "Raiffeisen Academy" provides integration with the existing HRM education management system X.EDU (see Newsletter December 2005) and includes the complete Learning Management System (LMS). LMS provides the learner with the learning objects which are required in the learning process and allows the learner to edit these objects. These objects include self-developed learning programs, knowledge tests, feedback forms, etc. In this context, the focus is on pension and investment fund basis as well as on Raiffeisen products.

"Raiffeisen Academy" is a central platform which manages employees' learning content and gives an overview of the achieved results.

In addition, the following features are available:

  • Class and curriculum (seminars) management
  • Central point for the organization of e-Learning content
  • Display of all published courses and learning objects
  • Initiation of assigned courses and learning objects
  • Personalized welcome page including an overview of the user’s learning progress
  • Access rights (role management)
  • Various reporting functions
  • Presentation of the education program and of possibilities to register for seminars including access to the learning objects in the learning process "Blended Learning"

Due to flexibility and short development times, it only took one year to develop a complete learning platform for Raiffeisen. This platform is based on the existing i-qBox e-Learning solution modules while covering customer-specific requirements.

Credit Suisse
TEEMA: Tool External Education Management and Advice

TEEMASince the end of 2004, Credit Suisse has been using a web-based system for external further education issues. This system manages external education and further education for all employees from the application to the completion including electronic signature.

In June 2005, Credit Suisse charged Comartis with the reengineering and the comprehensive extension of this application.

The fact that a new important release with several advanced features could be implemented on schedule shows that all the people involved were highly motivated and that the coordination was smooth and effective between the two Comartis teams in Casablanca (Morocco) and Baar (Switzerland).

The tool covers the following areas:

  • Application and role-based approval flow
  • Management of contribution agreements, costs and cash flows
  • Budget management
  • Reporting and controlling
  • Interfaces to internal connected systems (HR, MIS)
  • Interfaces to the external master data provider EduSys

This application has successfully replaced the previous, time-consuming, paper-based procedure with a database which contains all further internal education offers available in Switzerland. It supports employees in a way that enables them to communicate their further education requests effectively and purposefully to the responsible internal education manager.

Despite the very ambitious time schedule, the system was implemented on schedule, and has been running reliably and stably ever since.

Match! – a Book by Franziska Bischof Jäggi with contributions by co-authors (e. g. Comartis)

Match! - a book by Franziska Bischof Jäggi

Match! gives meaning to the trendy catchphrase "Work Life Balance". Various thought-provoking visualizations and examples encourage readers and companies to define the rules of both business and private life, and to implement these rules in a goal-oriented manner.

Match! takes a critical look at the interrelations and interactions of "Work Life Balance". All chapters are structured the same way. The concise introduction is followed by a detailed presentation of hard and soft factors, then the three perspectives, shown by the individual, economic and social levels are illustrated and supplemented with examples provided by the co-authors.
